Best Start San Fernando Valley is looking for 501(c)3 nonprofit organizations to participate in our 3rd Annual Participatory Budget Project! This year, Best Start San Fernando Valley will grant six nonprofit organizations with up to $75k that will go into effect in the 2023 – 2024 fiscal year. Your organization will work closely with our Project Team Leaders and community members to develop a new program or enhance an existing program that addresses the community-identified priorities and sub-categories in:
•Mental Health and Emotional Well-being
• Suicide prevention
• Nutrition, physical and mental exercise
•Technology Understanding the School System
• Digital literacy
• Digital language
•Protective Factors within Family Support & Education
• Positive parenting
• Child Development
•Leadership and advocacy with a focus on Homelessness and/or housing insecurity, Affordable Health Care, Affordable Childcare
• General Leadership
• General Advocacy
By filling out the 2022 – 2023 Best Start – United in Action Application, you and your organization can expect to hear from a Best Start representative in December to begin interviews.
